He had been in canip.
Decision was reserved sine die in Uio case of Bernard Noonnn, slaughter,'man, at the Gear -works, Petono.
Indefinite leave was granted E. K. Lsne and David Niven, electricians, who were appealed for by their employers oi; the ground that they were essential.
Total exemption was asked in tlie j case of Giiiiufir B. A. Black, clerk in the Income Tax Department. Indefinite leave was prated. Charles Jones, dairy farmer, Piihautanui, appealed on the grounds of hard* ship and public interest, and an ail-1 journment sine dio was made. Reginald J. Downing, farmer, AVallaceville, asked to be placed in D, and his request was granted. sheave till April 3() was given David! C. Reddy, fish merchant's, assistant. Donald Cameron, lighthouse-keeper at Cape Brett, was appealed for by the authorities, who said tljat many men in the lino had volunteered. He said that his farm at Gore was idle, and needed attention, and that he had other reasons for scekim; leave. A month's leave was granted. Arthur L. M'Speerin, Harbour Board employee, was appealed for by the secretary of his union on the ground that lie was an essential worker. Tlio board reserved decision. Dismissal met the appeal of Herbert Donkin, factory assistant, who said that he was a sole surviving son. "" The Tourist Department said that

The case of Eithard Houldsworth, tobacconist, who appoaled 011 Thursday, was adjourned till next sittings. The previously-heard appeal of Davil Cashman was; adjourned till September. i • •
In the matter of an application byDavid Smith for leave from camp the board decided that it had no recommendation to make.
