HEAVY GERMAN GUNFIRE BOLSHEVIK RESISTANCE TO JAPANESE LANDING Very little news came through from the Western front last night, and such as there was disclosed no material charge in the situation beyond the fact, that the British have improved their position at Corbie, near Amiens. Mr. Philip Gibbs, basing his conclusions on ibe great artillery activity of the Germans, hints at an early resumption of the big offensive News from Russia states that the Bolshevik Government, resenting the Japanese landing at Vladivostok, has declared a state of war throughout Siberia and ordered the organisation of the R«d Guards to oppose any encroachments by the Japanese. Another report states that the landing of British troops at Vladivostok is confirmed.
