At a meeting of the AVairarapa Hospital Board on Monday it was decided to appoint <ji masseur to the Mnsterton Hospital. Including donations, a. sum of £201 3s. Bd. was tnken at the Masterton Patriotic Shop on Saturday in aid of tho Salvation Army War Fund. A team ifrom the Masterton Bowling Club endeavoured to wrest the champion fours from the Carterton Club on Saturday last, bin were defeated by one point. The death occurred at Feathorston on Sunday of an early settlor, Mrs. Mary Jane Lhchr, wife of Mr. S. W. Lucas. The late Mis. Lucas, who was 71 years of age, was a sufferer for a decade from paralysie. The funeral will take place to-day.
