YEAR'S EFFORT REVIEWED. ; Now York, April 6. On the anniversary of America's en- j try into.the war, the Committee of 1 Public Information published a report ■ of America's accomplishments. The , total Government expense for the year was 12,067,278,679 dollars . (about i £2,413,000,000). ..The Army had been I increased from 95L , officers and 202,610 ! men to 123,801 officers and 1,528,92-1 ! men, and the Navy from 4792 officers \ and 77,946 men to 21,000 officers and 330,000 men. There are now four j times as many vessels in tbe naval service as there were a year ago. Over j twenty large companies are manufactur- ■ ing aeroplanes. The Emergency Moot | Corporation had requisitioned 425 steel ! vessels and contracted for 720 steel j vessels with a total dead-weight ton- j nage of 8,164,508. It had. contracted ! for 480 wooden vessels of. 1,715,000 ■ tons, and repaired and put into oper- ; ation 788,000 tons seized from . Ger- ' ■ many and Austria. —Aus.-N.Z.
