Mr. W. G. Talbofc, who has hold tho position of secretary of the Wellington Rugby Union since 1907, lias intimated that, on account of pressure of business, his services will no longer be available. In this conneotion we desire to place on record our appreciation of the very excellent servicos Mr. Talbot has rendered to tho union during tho eleven years he has held office." The contractors for tbo Church of England Soldiers' Institute in Botorua, have begun operations on the selected site opposite tho main entrance to tho Government Gardens. Tho building, which is exneoted to he completed early in June, will be 50ft. square, and is to contain a billiard-room, lounge, cardlooni, reading and writing-room, chaplain's room, and kitchen. There are to be a wide verandah and porch, and the fittings and'appointments are to be of a thoroughly up-fo-dato character. Tho institute is to bo for tho bonefit of soldiers of all denominations.
