STATE FIRE OFFICE
A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. The annual report of the State Fire Office states that the profits for the past year are greater than in any previous' year of its history. Two million nine hundred thousand pounds hare been added to the sum assured, bringing the total to nearly £22,000,000. The not surplus for the year is £22,601, and the net income £91,380, an increase of £8686 over the previous year. The net losses were £27,302. For the purpose of assisting war finances the office paid over to the Government in loans and taxation £83,923.
