STOLEN BOOTS

Windsor were charged to-day _ \ntli breaking and entering the premises of Charts Lynch, Edon Teirace, Aucklond, and stealing 24 pairs or boots, valued at £40. Other similar charges arc pending. Accused, when accosted in tho street by Constable Gavvey, were wearing now boots and carrying parcels of bootd,. which they said they bought" tho previous day at Frankton on:their.way to work at a flaxmill near Palmerston. The police pointed out that tho accused were wearing ' fives, and the boots in the parcel were "eights." Accused played a.game of bluff till their swag was searched at the railway station, wh«n a quantity of boots was discovered- fhen they owned up to tho burglary. They were remanded to appear at Auckland tomorrow. ■ ■ -
