BED JERSEY APPEAL

OPENING RALLY ON MONDAY. The great opening rally in connection with the Red Jersey appeal for funds to help the great work the Salvation Army is doing for the soldiers on all the war fronts is to be held at the Towti Hall on Monday evening. The chair will be occupied by the Mayor, and speeches will be dolivered by the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, and Sir James Allen and others. Five Wellington bands will be in attendance, and some attractive musical items will be given during the evening. What the Army has done and is still doing for the soldiers is well known, and all interested in the welfare of the men at the front are specially invited to attend the opening rally.
