Miss Emelie Polini, the famous English actress, hns arrived in Sydney. She is to play the title role in "De Luxe Annie," which is to be produced by tha Taits at tho Palace Theatre this month. For the past four years Miss Polini has been playing in N'eiv York, including two spasons at the Princess Theatre, where she was loading woman with Holbrook Blinn. .Miss Polini has played Vashti in the "Black Mask," the Gypsy in "Ibb and Little Christina," 1-1 ildergaido in "The Uuchastencd Woman," Marina in "The Hawk." Helen Hastings in "The Man Pays, and Tilburuiain "The Critic." When Jit'. Tait engaged her. the artist was being "'starred" in "Yes or NV J " a', the 48th Street Theatre, New York. Miss Polini's English successes include Glory in "Tho Christian," Greeba, in "The Bondman," Roma in "The Eternal City," Cigarette in "Under Two Flags," "Duma in "Diana of Dobson's," Nellie Denver in "The Silver King," Rowena in "When Knights were Bold," Julie in "The Little Damosel," and Fay in "Hindle Wakes." Other members of the company wbo travelled with Miss I'olini are Miss Georgie Harvey and Harrison Lee.
