DEATH OF GENERAL FULTON AND MAJOR PURDY
KILLED BY A BURSTING SHELL. (Special from the Official War Correspondent, Captain Malcolm Boss.) By Cable, March 30. To-day we mourn the loss of another of our brigadiers—General Fulton—and of his brigade-major—Major Purely— who wore lolled in action through the bursting of a shell. Prompt measures were taken to rescue the victims. The brigadier, who had just returned from leave in England, had hurried to the front to take up his command. When dug out ho was found to bo badly shellshocked and unconscious, and he died soon after being removed to a dressing station.- The brigade-major was apparently killed outrfght. He had already distinguished himself in tho war, and was one of our brightest and bravest young soldiers. Ho had been awarded the Military Cross and the Croix de Guerre, and subsequently a bar to the Military Cross.
