The great respent in which Mrs. .Elizabeth- Mouat Georgeson (widow of Mr. 'James Georgeson), who died on Good Friday in her 96th year, was held was shown by the large number of people who attended her funeral On Sunday afternoon, despite the heavy rain. The, interment was made in the Sydney Street Cemetery. A service was conducted a,t the family residence, in Caroline Street, by the Rev. Dr. J. Ken- l nedy Elliott, who also officiated at the graveside. Beautiful wreaths were sent by the "Evening Post" Proprietary, the literary, commercial, and mechanical staffs •of the paper, one of the late Mrs. Georgeson's sons (Mr. Peter Georgeson) being an old member of the commercial staff. Other floral tributes were received from friends of the family. The chief mourners were the three sons (Messrs. J. D. M., C. M., and P. Georgeson).
