The Mitchell Company was founded, in 1834, and it had been manufacturing for 68 years when the first "Mitchell" Motorcar was built. They were engaged in producing all classes'of vehicles, where competition was intense, profits very small, and success depended ou absolute efficiency in all factory methods.
