THE COAL STRIKES

DEFINITE NEWS EXPECTED TODAY. • Some information about the coal strikes on the .West Coast should be available to-day. The delegate? from the unions which visited the Prime Minister and the Minister of Mines last week went hack to tell their unions what the views of tho Govern** mont were, and when this information was given to them the unions were> 'to decide what they should do. If they go back to work and go on working diligently it may be presumed that the Government will not take action against them for what they have done up till tho present, hut if, on the other hand, they remain on strike, t proceedings will have to ho taken against them under the War Regulations.
