"MITCHELL" EFFICIENCY. The Mitcholl Company was founded in 1834, and it had been manufacturing for 68 years when the first "Mitchell" Motorcar was built. They were engaged in producing all classes of vehicles, where competition was intense, profits very small, _ and success depended on absolute efficiency in all factory methods. They realised that the same conditions would apply in the building of motor-cars, so they started some fourteen yeaTS ago to prepare for it. Jo'hn W. Bate wns then, as now, the leading Effioienoy Engineer, bo the factory decided ho was the man they wonted. Mr. Bate insisted on one model plant, every machine and process being adopted to that one model. It is made in two sizes—tho 7-passonger with ]27in. wheel base, and the 5-passenge'r with 120 in. wheel base, and in each instance the standards aro alike. The 100 per cent, 'over-strength necessitated the use of costly steel, and this hoe only been made possible by factory efficiency. The "Bate" cantilever eprinee are recognised as tne most comfortable in the world. No shock absorbers, snubbers or robound straps are necessary.
