LOYAL MESSAGE FROM SOUTH AFRICA
o APPRECIATION OF THE ARMY'S EFFORTS. (Rcc. March 28, 8.30 p.m.) Cape Town, March 27. General Botha has cabled to Sir Douglas Haig his deepest appreciation of the strenuous efforts of the Army, and praying that complete victory may crown its noble and heroic stand. General Botha, in the House of Assembly, said he desired to move an unopposed motion in similar terms, but Mr. Wessels objected, and deolined General Botha's appeal to withdraw his opposition. The resolution was thereupon postponed till to-morrow. The Senate passed the resolution unanimously.—Renter.
