MATTERS HEFORE CITY COUNCIL. Several matters concerning sea bathing were before the City Council last evening. . The Evans Bay Bathing Club is to bo informed by the City Council that the council regret that they cannot see their way to gr.-int permission for tho erection of a boat shed on tho beach at Kilbirnie, adjoining the public bathing shed. A suggestion is to be forwarded to tlie Minister of Internal Affairs which will have the effect of empowering the council to fully control sea bathing in waters w'thin the city boundaries. The committee recommended: "That tho request of the. Hataitai Bathing Club to bo supplied with water to their bathing shed free of charge, be agreed to." (The amount consumed during the past two swimming seasons only represents 19s. 6d. net.) This recommend.ition was referred hack to the committee.
