ELECTRICAL WORKERS
The By-Laws Committee reported to the City Council last eveniug that they had been waited on by a deputation representing the Wellington Electrical Workers' Union who represented that a'number of electrical wiring firms were employing on electrical works .throughout the city a greater number, of apprentices than the allowance provided by tho Arbitration Court award. Answers entirely satisfactory to the committee were given by the Electrical Engineer and assistant manager of the Department, and conveyed to the deputation at the. meeting, and theso answers, in tho committee's opinion, obviated the need for any further action on the part of the council, and they therefore recommended that a reply in such terms bo forward to the union. The report was adopted.
