It was .resolved,, that •, a claim for £76 for damage caused'-by tlib Mooting of .premises in Adeiaiae ltoad, due ■to the collapse of the storm-water drain be denied, as the officers, adyiso ihat tho drain referred to was not, constructed, by the,corporation. Tenders, received for tho annual supplies 'for the ..year :' 1918-19, were dealD with as under j-rCement,' Golden Bay Cement Company-; firewood, Westport Coal Company; gravel, i'.' LamDerg; sand, Tonks^and'Andrews; saddlery, S. J. Manning; drain pipes: the City Engineer be empowered to obtain. pipes for sewerage work from Messrs. Hutson and Company, and for storm-water drainage work ' from Messrs. Herbert Hill and Company, as far as tho requirements of. the - city will permit, and- also provided the •prides_ aie (reasonable; timber:-itiho quotation system similar to • that employed in the purchase of general stores 'be. adopted for the timber requirements.
It was decided that application be made v to the Government to extend, by a.clause in Tlie Reserves and Other. Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Bill, the period within which the council may complete the Evans Bay Eeclaniation for a further term of sevon years. .'.,..
