THE CAPTURED PACIFIC RAIDER —— J (Rec. March 25, 10.25 p.m.) Vancouver, March 25. The captured raider is roported to have been able to sink any merchant ship in the Pacific. It is believed she was fitted out on tho west coast of Mexico. She was manned exclusively by Gormans. A United, States warship overhauled her at sea and captured her without difficulty. SPANISH STEAMER TORPEDOED Madrid, March 24. Tho Taya Company's steamer Guadalmausver/laden with cotton from America, has been sunk by a torpedo. FATE OF A SUBMARINE DESTEOYED BY ITS OWN TORPEDO. Now York, March 24. The steamer Flixton, on a voyage from Havre to Newport, U.S.A., encountered a submarine off Portland. A torpedo was seen approaching, but the torpedo broke the surface and became deflected from its course, and made a complete turn, like a boomerang, striking the submarine, which was preparing to fire a second torpedo. GERMAN TRANSPORT SUNK STRIKES A MINE AT THE AALAND ISLANDS. Stockholm, March 24. A German transport was sunk by a mine at tho Aaland Islands, where the battle-cruiser Hindonburg sank.
