ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE
REPORT OF RED GROSS WORK. In another column will be found the quarterly statement of receipts and expenditure of tho St. John Ambulance Brigade and Red Cross, which carries on its work in tho Star boating shed, Jervois Quay. It will be seen that £ flfl d support is still received from the country societies, and from the many scnoc.js in the Wellington educational district. whose work, in many instances, is showing marked improvement. 'I h.-> I etone Red Cross Shop, in conjunction with the Petone Woollen Mills, and several other parties in the district haie been responsible for the magnificent total for tho quarter, of over i-Hb, while other societies thiwi.ahont the district have kept up their contributions. , , • i During the quarter the brigade assisted the Navy Lcaguo to raise iunds for King George's Sailors' Day. and under adverse circumstances was able to add the sum of £31 Us id. to the general fund. Letters have been received from Lady -Jekyll, president of the St. Joint's warehouse in London, mid from Colonel Trimble, O.C, the Brigade Hospital at Etnples. in I'ranee, in acknowledgment of goods received. Tho thanks of the committee are due to those who come to the depot day after day, and also to tbose who take the work home to do, and they would like'it known that although the workers are largely composed of brigade members, there are several who are not. and that anvone willing to come and help with the work will lie most welcome.
