The W.C.T.TJ: Convention to-day passed many resolutions, among them the following:—That an effort be uiado to raise £1000 for a Y.M.CTA. hutment at the front; that Dr. Newman and other members be thanked for blocking the compulsory clauses of the Social Hygiene Bill; that the tinie has arrived when a man and woman should produce a medical certificate before a marriage certificate is issued; that a criminal .offeneo against girls, of tender years should be'considered as "unnatural" as an offence against a boy; that two women should be appointed to asaist in censorship of kinemn films (other improvements also suggested); that the electoral law should provide for the election of women to the House of RepresentatiYes. t Tiniaru, March 21.
The election o. f officers for 1918 re-sulted-.—President, Mrs. Don; corresponding secretary, Miss Henderson-, recording secretary, Mrs. Evans; treasurer, Mrs. Bendely; treasurer for Maori work, Mrs. Walker. A resolution was carried iu favour of special mental hospitals for soldiers whose affliction is only temporary.
