IMPORTANT CONFERENCE
SETTLEMENT OF SOLDIERS AND SAILORS. London, March 20. An important confercflce_ has begun at the Mansion House. Thirty leagues and committees from trade unions interested in land settlement after the war in Britain and the Dominions resolved to urge the Government to deal immediately with,the settlement of soldiers, sailors, and others as a national and Imperial enterprise. The agenda paper under discussion includes proposals to the Imperial and Dominion Governments to co-operate in raising loans for railways, for advances to settlers to encourage land investment, and to establish a Central Emigration Department.—"The Times."
