CAR SMASHED TO. EIECES. .; By Telegraph—Press Association. Taumarunul, March 21. 'A collision between a train and a motor-car occurred on the Matapuna bridgo at midday. A now car, driven by "W. Thornton for W. H. Signal, taxi proprietor, had'only entered the bridge when a train going north met it coming off. The driver had the presenco of mind to jump clear, and he escaped with bruises. The car was smashed to atoms. The Matapuna bridge is used for railway and ordinary traffic under special regulations.
