CIVILIAN PRISONERS IN I GERMANY
BRITAIN COULD NOT AGREE TO EXCHANGE. London, March 19Replying to a deputation from the Houso of Lords and the House of Commons, urging a general exchange of civilian prisoners, Mr. Lloyd George said it would involve exchanging fourteen thousand Germans for three thousand British. The Government could not accede to the request on military grounds.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
