ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

FOUND DROWNED. The body of Charles Lett, 82 years of age, was discovered in the harbour at about 11 o'clock yesterday morning off'the Thorndon Esplanade, and was removed to tlo morgue. The- indications pointed to the body having beon in tho water for a comparatively short time, but it apparently had boon dashed against the rocks owing to tho boisterous weather experienced yesterday morning. Tho wrists were loosely tied together with a boot lace, but ono hand had worked out of tho noose, and tho legs were also tied with' a bootlace. Lett was well known in Masterton, and has relations in Wellington.
