THE EXCESS RECEIPTS

HOW THEY ARE TO BE DISPOSED - OF. At a meeting on Monday night the National Council of .the- Y.M.C.A. coirsidered the question of using the Red Triangle campaign receipts exceeding the £100,000 minimum required tor tn© objects of the appeal. It was decked that any surplus available, including the'amounts yet to be raised in several districts, should be •devoted to. much-needed work in several directions. At least six additional motors are neede d for motor patrols by night in London streets for the benefit of soldiers. Additional hostel accommodation is aUo required, between two and three hundred beds being urgently needed. Ihe meeting agreed that the money should nTbeh-rded, but .should be use in, mediately on necessities. The council « so resolved to send overseas an honortyronUsionofWeadingbus, nessmen, members of the yMf-*-* to report on the best methods .of extending the Red Triangle services to soldiers. The commissioners would pay all their own expenses, mcliid.ng travelling expenses. ' Answering persistent rumours that the Y.M.C.A. was am very expensively by men drawing large salaries, tno council states that all the members of the National Council give their services wholly without charge. The Y.M.C.A. field secretaries receive £3 per week if single, and the married men get £2 extra home allowance.
