ST. PATRICK'S DAY RINK TOURNEY
MARRED BY RAIN
. .The Newtown and Hataitai Clubs joined in promoting a rink tournament yesterday, most of the clubs in the centre sending representatives. Tho greens were in admirable order —perhaps better than any others in the dis-trict—-and the play was distinctly interesting up to a point. That point was 2 p.m., when a drizzling rain dured, which very gradually increased during the afternoon, which meant that the whole of the third round had to bo played in light rain. This hardly tended to the comfort of players. Tho results wore as follow:—

G Section.—Fountain- (Hataitai), three. H Section.—Redstone (Victoria) and Taplin (Johnsonville), two wins and one loss each, Redstone the winner on points. THE DRAW. On Newtown green on Saturday Duff plays Brackenridge or Dillon, and Potter plays Dumbell. On Hataitai, Duguid plays Spiers and Fountain plays Redstone.
