SHIP CONSTRUCTION EXCEEDS SINKINGS
The highly-important announcement is credited to the American Secretary for the Navy tbat the world's construction of now shipping now exceeds destruction by submarines. There is still very little news of events in tlie war theatres, but splendidly successful work by British airmon and a continued stir of raiding are reported on the Western front. Tho Belgians have taken over the short coastal sector of tho Flanders front which the British took over from the French last year, so that the Belgian line now extends from the coast to Dismudo. Germany is said to bo organising a mobile force for tho invasion of Siberia. Further interesting references are made to the Anglo-American seizure of Dutch shipping.
