A FIGHT TO A FINISH. By Telegraph—Pres3 • Association. Christchurch, March 18. A telegram from Otira states that tho Workers' Union has received a reply from Sir William Fraser, Minister of Public Works, stating that ha could not meet the men's demand to re-employ the hoy who was dismissed. A mass meeting of the men was held yosteraay, when indignation was expressed at the treatment received from thfc Minister. It was unanimously resolved to stand firm, and fight the question to a finish. A deputation of two delegates is being sent to Wellington to place the men's side of the dispute before the Minister. Financial assistance is being sought from other unions.
