Qats are very scarce,.and linn, especially seed Hues required for autumn sowing, Gortons are worth 45., and other varieties lis. 9d. to 4s. at.country .stations. Ouisheaf chaff is in cood demand, and prime weight samples are now worth £5 per ton, and discoloured £4 to £4 10s. A fair amount of business is being done in potatoes for immediate laud forward delivery. Ther» is a largo.area of red clover shut up for seed this season, but cutting of the crop is only beginning. White clover ■is commanding high prices, best samples beina worth Is. 9tl. to Is. lOd. per lb., ■whilst samples containing more or less sorrel arc selling at Is. upwards. At Culverden sheep fair best two-tooth halfbred ewes made 425. iM. to 52s , the latter figure being a record for this class of owe. It was obtained by the late Walter Macfarlane's Kaiwara Estate. Six and cmhttnoth halfbredfl made '365. to 445.; four and five-year-olds, 295. 6cl. to 425. Cd.; two-tooth three-ouarterbred ewes, 375.' to 405., and four and six-tooth, 355. to 38s. 6d.
