PRESENTATION OF MILITARY MEDALS
By Telegraph-Press Ansociatiou. • Thames,. March 15. Sir James Allen, Minuter,-, of Defence, visited Thames last night,: nnd was received by the local troops, headed by the regimental band. In a large meeting at the Central Hall, presided over by the Mayor, who cordially welcomed the visitor, Sir .Tunics Allen presented Military-Mod-nls for gallantry on the field to Mr. Francis, father of Laiicc-Sergeant Francis, and Mr. Whitehouse, father of Toti Whitehouse. Both winners of the medals lost their lives, and Sir: James Allen spoke highly' of. their j meritorious conduct as an incentive to | others.
