EASTER LEAVE AND SOUTH ISLAND SOLDIERS
—9By Telegraph.—Press Association DunerJin, March 13. Dr. Tliackcr, M.P., sent the following telegram to Sir James Allen respecting Easter leave: "Your reply most unsatisfactory; you arc merely side-tracking tho main issue, giving preference to civilian Easter traffic instead of soldiers; you arc forcing three or four thousand reatives to go to Wellington at a cost of £1.0 to £15 each. Ono trip in the Maori is all that is necessary, which- tho Union Company could give free as a more bagatelle discount on its war profits. Please try again to let men nwav on the Wednesday before .Good Friday."
