BANK AMALGAMATIONS
NECESSARY ON NATIONAL GROUNDS.
London, March 12. The chairman of several bank meetings states that tho amalgamations which have been completed are necessary on national grounds in view of in* ternational competition after the war. Public suspicion was not justified on tho subject. Tho chairman of the London Countv and Westminster Bank declares the Germans are forming a gigantic money trust, hoping to obtain supremacy in the world's finance. They intend tho fiercest competition with British b'anks. —"The Times."
