CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER
TAXI-DRIVER ACQUITTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. . Napier, March 11. In the Supremo Court, Ridge Kelsey Stock, a taxi-driver, was acquitted on a charge of manslaughter in causing the death of a female child named Mitchell by running over her in December last, when travelling at twenty miles an hour. Sir Robert Stout, in his address to tho jury, commented on the number of children killed by motor-cars in tho district compared with deaths in the cause- of sacrifices by ancient barbarians.
