eMASTERTON. The agricultural statistics are at present being collected by the Masterton police officials. Of forty-one men who concentrated in Masterton on Wednesday, twentyeight were either, farmers or engaged in farm work. One'divorce case bas been set down for hearing at -the sitting of the Supreme Court in Masterton this ""The Wairarapa Wheat Committee has j been advised by the Assistant Wheat, Controller that the price fixed for fowl | wheat in the Wairarapa is equal-to 6s. ; per bushel free on-hoard at the nearest port. There is no restriction on the retail price of fowl wheat, and it is reported that as higji as Bs. per bushel is being charged in some instances; The Minister of Defence has sent a contribution to the funds of tne Masterton Municipal Silver Band. A sum of £52 was taken at an entertainment, given in the Masterton Opera House on Wednesday evening by soldiers from the Feathernton Camp, w aid of the funds of the lleturned Soldiers' Club. . . CARTERTON. The Rev. Mr. Bartlett and Mr. E. j R. Sinclair, of the Featherston Bowling | Club, have-sent forward a challenge to plav for the Grady medals at present held by the Carterton Club. The final section games m the bowling contest for the Booth Cup have been-concluded, leaving Masterton 13 winners of the northern section to play Carterton in'the final. An orchestral society has been formed in Carterton, with a good membership. .„>„_>_ -
