Present indications aro for variable and strong winds, north-easterlies ruling, and backing to south-westerlies shortly, Skies clouding over more extensively, with rain and colder weather following generally. Barometer unsteady In the north, probably rising everywhere in from 20 to 30 houre. Atmospheric pressure has decreased in the south with the development or a westerly "low," while a sub-tropical cyclone Is still centred northwaids of the Bay oj Plenty. The two disturbances have modified each other considerable to-day. Oloudy and wet weather has ruled in the northern and East Coast districts of the North Island, and warm and humid , conditions have prevailed elsewhere. B. 0. BATES, Director.
