ATTACKS AND RAIDS ON WEST FRONT
AUSTRALIANS CAPTURE PRISONERS AND MACHINE-GUNS . The New Zealand High Commissioner reports:— ' ' \ London, March 5, 11.30 a.m. Sir Douglas Haig reports: "At Warneton the Australians made successful raids last night, taking a number of prisoners and two machine-guns." ARTILLERY ACTIVE ON FRENCH FRONT : ENEMY ATTACKS REPULSED. London, March 5. A French communique states: "There has been fairly violent artillery action op the right of the Meuse in the region of Cairiepes and Bois le Chaume, where a German attack was repulsed after a lively contest. An enemy attack in 'the Bois des Chevaliers was completely ohecked. A German raid on the American trenobes in' Lorraine was repulsed. American patrols took some prisoners"—Aus.-N.Z.
