Sleigh, Ohristchurch manager of the Union Steam 6hip Company, the freight shortage which has been holding up the inter-island business will be relieved during the present fortnight by five steamers, including one HuddartParker boat leaving for Auckland end Gisborne. . Those boats will have an approximate capacity of 70,000 sacks, which Will do much to relieve pressure.
