At a meeting of tlin Fruitgrowers' Association in G'hristchurch • a letter was. received from the general manager of the Now Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation enclosing the following statistics regarding the fruit-growing industry in the Dominion for the year 191617:— ' Acreage- of commercial orchards 24,810 Acreage of private orchards ... 9,164 Total quantity of fruit gathered from commercial orchards, bushels 1,000,010 Total value of imported fruit £463,169 Number of cases of fruit imported.
