BOWLING
INTERCLUB COMPETITION. NEWTOWN AND VICTORIA TO PLAY OFF. The interclub 'competition (hitherto known, as the Senior Pennants) concluded with last Saturday's play with all clubs save 'the winners of the sections. The Nowtown Club wins A section with no losses, and the Victoria Club, with one loss, wins B section. These two clubs have now to meet on a date yet to be fixed. Each club will be represented by eight rinks.
The first round (which actually consisted of one game) in the champion of champion pairs was.played" on the Thorndon green yesterday afternoon in dull, drizzling weather, which did not make for pleasure. The green was in good condition, but the dampness and puffiness of the wind made the action of the bawls a trifle uncertain at times. The, results were as follow:— Kelburn v. Johnsonville. Kelburn (Dohurty and Gray) beat Johnsonville (Mills and Petrie), 24— 16. ' , The game between Eastbourne aim Te Hhvi was won by the former club's representatives by default. This is the ( second occasion on which the To Huvi Club lias defaulted. The second round will commence oil the Thorndon Club's green at 9 o'clock this moruiug.
