OF FRIESIANS. visitor to New Zealand, Mr. G. Wright, of New South Wales, one oi the leading dairy, farming experts of Australia, and a judge at many: of their shows, inspected a,'large number of the Mesta nerds'of.New Zealand, with a view, to purchasing stock for come leading Australian farmers. Bcfou leaving,; he. spoke in the highest ieri/is ol''New Zealand's purebred cattle, which; lip-said, were undoubtedly the best he had ever seen. After the most careful scrutiny he made a final selection of a young bull from "Chmy t'riesian Faring" Trentbam; one from Mr. W. Lovelock, Palmerston North, awl three heifers from Mr. J. Donald, Wanganui. The Cluny Friesiau Farm Company's bull is descended on the sire's side from the celebrated ; ''Pietje" and "Hcngerveld" families, and on the dam's side from the"Netherland" family,:'- his .great-grand-dam being Mr. Grigg's... "Buttercup,;* of ■ Longboach." Not "only was4he:podigree of this bull of the first order, but'the milk records behind him were excellent. It is Mr. Wright's intention, to exhibit him with two of the heifers at.the coming Sydney Show. _ ' ' : ■■■ ' The general opinion of those who saw the shipment was that iit was easily the best: lot of young .'Friesians that had ever left New Zealand. It is hoped that the shipment will be a forerunner to many others, as New Zealand Friesians are now sufficiently numerous to permit of some of the very best being sent away..
