CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. LUKE.
Mr. J. P. Luke, M.P., has recoived some hundreds of telegrams of congratulation oil his victory at the polls on Thursday... The telegrams have come from Ministers of the Crown, -members of Parliament, Mayors of cities anil boroughs, prominent commercial many other people. They show ■ that hid success in the'face of serious vote-splitting is regarded not merely .as a personal achievement, but as a triumph for the National Government and the loyal citizens. , ■ Mr. C. J. Parr, M.P., telegraphed to. Mr. Luke: "Hearty congratulations. I'ou were opposed by some dangerous forces, and your success is a relief to sane people." . '' Another telegram came from-Mr. K. Newman, M.P., who said: .-"Henrty congratulations on your splendid victory; It constitutes .a great vote of confidence in the National' Government when Brandon's votes are added to your own." ' . e
