DANNEVIRKE MEETING MULTICLPAL WINS ?HH : CUP. (By Telegraph-Special Correspondent.) Dannevirkei February 27. The Dannevirke autumn Meeting waa held in fine but gusty weather before a big attendaucc. Tho totalisator handled £19,357, against £15.88.5 on the ftrst of tlie two-daya' meeting held last year. In tho Maiden Plate Galore drew α-iiout-eidc marble, but was made lavourito nevertheless. At the barrier Blended and Whiro refused to join the field, and tne former lost several lengtlw at the stait. Whiro led to the turn for home, wheie Galore canio through, and at the J won by mvo lengths. J'ervolo was thntt and Whiro next. .. On account of a scratchy I;™ 1 """ 1 .-".*, Black Ada was tho outsider of the field in the l'rcsidonfs Handicap, Shicla and Vermilion being the favourites. Black Ada drew No. 1 at the barrier, and from a. perfect start Vermilion led to the tun. where Black Ada took the lead, and in the run to the post she won nicely by a lepß" , - Vermilion, Heather, and Ohiwia finished together. The return given by the >yi ne was a false one, as she has raced well in Hart W Handicap All Over was second favourite, with Engari first choice. At tho start Kahumangu led, but down the back Engari rushed to the front and was in charge till the home tin n, where eho broke a blood -essel and, was pulled vra. Probity led into tjie straight, where All Over came through and won easily by three lengths from Probity, with Kahumangu and flylami in that ord?n tho Cup the machine suggested the placings as hoisted by the judge. Ac start Jean Laddo and Jtaraetotara uale Dlay from Perfidy and fcilver fongue. Across the bottom the leaders stopped, and Perfidy took charge. She looked all o * winner, entering the straight, but Millticlj.al nmshed very strongly and beat her on the post. Jean Laddo was third and then cauie Maraetotara and ilastei Moutoa The winner ran a good race, ami the success was fully deserved. War Maid, Pervolo, and Birkonetta were backed in that order for tho Hack Handicap. A the start Birkenetta went out very fast, and down tho back .she led War Maid and Wapping. Entering the straight Pervolo came through and won very easily. Birkonetta struggled on and beat War Maid for second place. Humorist, Goldbearing, and Wapping were the "a very warm order in Colorado was comfortably defeated in the Jumpers Mat Handicap. Tarewanui set off in front, and, attended by Prince Delaware and the favourite, led ail the way. l'rinco Delaware was hanging badly, mid Colorado got up on the inside at the home turn, but when lie tried to reach the leader the Levin horea responded again and bcat-tbe favourite in the run to the poet. Prince Delaware was a poor third, and Combustion was beaten off. There was another field of five in the Makirikiri Hack Handicap. AU Over was saddled up a second time and Btarted a good favourite, Retard, a fresh horse, being second fri demand. Belgian Maid made the pace, and at one stage had a tenlengths' lead, but across tho bottom the gap was bridged by the favourite. The latter wai then given ' a spell, and Retard led into tho straight, but in the run to the post the favourite again challenged, and after a good race won by a neck. Elevate was a poor third, and then came War Btar and Belgian Maid. 'fhe concluding event was run well to time, and visitors were enabled to catch the trains. Sweet Tipperary was at a very short price, the second favourite being Black Ada, who was saddled up again. The favourite took charge soon after the start and won eaeily. .
