FOR AUSTRALIA'S ARMY
NEW RECRUITING SCHEME.
(Rec. February 25, 10.10 p.m.) Molbourne, February 25. The Federal Prime Minister (Mr. W. M. Hughes) lias outlined the new recruiting scheme, which provides for the appointment of a Royal Commission to decide how many recruits are wanted each month; an increase in tho sepaiation allowance for married men by 33 1-3 per cent., and the payment of 4} per cent, interest on soliers' deferred pay. Eligible men will be asked to submit their names to a district ballot ami enlist if drawn to make up tho quota for any particular month. Recruits are to be insured. Bonuses will be paid to recruiting sergeants. Returned soldiers will replace eligible men whose circumstances do not debar, but who will not enlist,— Press Assn.
