THE REASON FOR MILLIGAN'g Success in Gentlemen's Tailoring is because he is A SPECIALIST, And employs a fine staff of men who are specialists in making good Clothes.

A taxi-driver was before the City Council last evening on charges of speeding and general irresponsibility. Ho was required to show cause why his license should not be cancelled. It had been stated against him by someone who had written to the authorities that on the way to the Wellington races the writer's party had asked the driver not to go so fast, whereupon ho had eased the car down to a particularly slow pace. Later a tyre had needed to be repaired, and the driver had shown the occupants how to make the repairs and had then looked on and told them that if they did not do the work they would not get to the races. Councillors laughed heartily at flio letter, but the driver said that the contents 'were not correct. After the driver and his solicitor had retired, Councillor J. E. Fitzgerald said that as far as he know tho driver was careful and courteous. He was of the opinion that the City Inspector had been misled in the matter by people who were unfavourably disposed toward the driver. The council decided to suspend tho driver, till March 31.
