TRAM ACCIDENTS
BIG DECREASE IN WELLINGTON. The tramways manager presented to the City Council last evening' a return showing the number of iccidents to persons, and collisions with cars and vehicles which have occurred during the last three years. ' Although there had been an increase in tho number of collisions during the last two years, the accidents to persons had decreased from 11.24 per million passengers carried in 1915 to 3i75 for last \ear. which was very satisfactory considering the overloading that had prevailed and tho large number.of new employees on the cars. '
