ARBITRATION COURT

4 SOFr GOODS TRADE DISPUTE. By Telegraph.—Prtss Association. Auckland, February 20. The Arbitration Court heard a dispute in the soft goods trado, together with a demand by packers for improved conditions of employment. Mr. Justice Stringer said j that a very important principle was involved in each case. A small body of the employees sought to compsl the settlement of a dispute between workers and employers, while the bulk of the employees expressed themselves satisfied with the existing conditions. He would hear evidence as to the general conditions, and if it were shown that the conditions were not satisfactory he would refer the dispute back to the Conciliation Council. After hearing evidence called by the unions, the Court reserved its decision.
