ABOUT SOCIALISM
AN IDEA OF MR, BRANDON'S,
Mr. Brandon does not believe in Socialism, and ho describes as "Socialism" the forcing of the opinion of the majority upon the minority on . such questions as prohibition. "Socialists do not believe in authority," he said, "except that created by the people. That authority they take care to get into their own hands, ana when they tako charge th; ; authority is supported by blood. What is the position in Russia to-day., where your Socialists havo taken complete charge of the country? The present condition of civil war, murder, robbery, rapine—that is all the outcome of Socialism. Every student, who thinks deeply on the subject is satisned f.iat anarchy is the inevitable result of Socialism, and this matter of one part of the community trying to force the other part is Socialism pure and simple. These questions should not be thrown among the people in time of war."
