Gorman Government to purchase blood stock for stud purposos. Just before tho war ho expended botween £9000 and £10,000 in this way, hut tho war prevented delivery. Failing to get the- pricos bo paid, he thought he would make thorn pay by racing, but failed to do so. His purchases included a New Zealand horse for which hn paid £1600 and which sold to the German Government for £4500.
