GERMAN ATTACK IN THE BALTIC PROVINCES
BOMBARDMENT' ON VERDUN FRONT
y'THE MYSTERY ABOUT SIR WILLIAM ROBERTSON
No material developments are reported from the Western front in to-day's dispatches, beyond a violent artillery duel on the Verduii front and a successful day's operations by the airmen. In Russia events are shaping for new developments. The Germans have commenced an offensive against the Bolshevik forces in the Baltic Provinces, r.nd have so far encountered little opposition. General Alexieff is developing his operations in the Doa Cossack region, whither a Bolshevik army of 100,000, so says rumour, is hound. The Ukraine people in Canada, amazed at the attitude of their countrymen'in Europe, have offered themselves for war work under the Canadian Government. Mr. Bonar Law lias heen sharply heckled Vin the House of Commons over the "Robertson mystery."
